ESU wins 10-8, Fornelli ties record

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) -- With Sunday's 10-8 win over Lindenwood, Emporia State head coach Bob Fornelli is now tied for the most wins in program history (557).

Lindenwood jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but ESU responded with two runs in the bottom half. Alex White doubled home a run, and Mason Brown had an RBI.

Brown was 4-for-5 with three RBI.

In the fifth, ESU scored three runs on five hits to take a 5-2 lead. The Hornets would quickly surrender the lead in the top of the sixth as Lindenwood tied it 5-5.

ESU scored two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth.

Bob Fornelli has a chance to break the program record Monday afternoon at 1 PM.
