MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - For the second year, Downtown Manhattan Inc. has hosted Third Thursdays, a celebration of various art forms in Manhattan.
Third Thursdays are hosted from May through September on Poyntz Avenue .
Businesses and artists of all kinds have displays, booths and sidewalk shows for the performing arts artists.
Singers, instrumentalists, and fine artists, sang played or painted as residents strolled down the sidewalks listening and admiring their arts.
Manhattan Parks and Recreation had a prize wheel for anyone who ventured past their booth.
“We like to introduce music and art maybe to the community that hasn’t seen it before, or hasn’t experienced it. So we have a lot of hands-on activities also and it’s very family friendly.”
Downtown Manhattan Inc., Executive Director, Gina Scroggs says.
This year’s most popular activity has been the cake walk sponsored by Bourbon and Baker, where you can take home a fresh baked cake.
