TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local non-profit is helping children with feeding and weight issues thanks to a donation Monday morning.
Reser's Cares, a volunteer organization from Reser's Fine Foods, donated $2,200 to the Easterseals Capper Foundation.
The money will be used to send three pediatric therapists to a four day training session in Oklahoma, where they will learn more about treating children with feeding and weight issues.
"They are putting that money to a good use by helping the youth in our community who are dealing with issues that affect how they enjoy and live their lives to the fullest and Easterseals is really there to help support and enable those kids to live life to the fullest," said Jeremy Harvey, the Operations Analyst and Facilitator for Reser's Cares.
According to the Capper Foundation, 80% of children with special needs have some type of feeding or swallowing disorder.
