The Kansas State Fire Marshal is investigating after a camper and garage went up in flames Tuesday morning.

The Soldier Township Fire Dept. responded to a report of a blaze at 2120 NE 56th St., north of Topeka, around 2:10 a.m.

Crews found an RV and garage fully engulfed in flames and asked for assistance from Rock Creek Fire in Meriden. They got the fire under control less than an hour later, just before 3:00 a.m.

The garage and contents, along with the RV, are total losses. Authorities tell 13 NEWS a boat and pickup truck were also severely damaged before the fire was put out. Thankfully, nobody was injured.

The owner says the camper was serviced Monday and believes that led to the blaze. However, Schmitt says the official cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Kansas State Fire Marshal.
