JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 22-year-old Woodbine woman died Wednesday after the pickup truck she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer on a Geary Co. highway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
According to its crash report, Savannah Laudemann was heading east on State Lake Road shortly after 11:30 a.m. As she attempted to cross U.S. 77, Laudemann's 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was struck on the driver's side by a southbound Peterbilt.
The full-size pickup was pushed into the west ditch, while the semi came to a rest on the highway.
Laudemann was rushed to a local hospital where she later died, KHP said. Her passenger, Dawnette Laudemann, 44, was also seriously injured in the crash and is being treated at Geary Co. Community Hospital.
The driver of the semi, 46-year-old Bryan Lewis, of Crosby Texas, was not hurt in the wreck.
The crash shut down U.S. 77 for much of Tuesday afternoon. It did not reopen until approximately 6:30 p.m.
