Man arrested for child sex crimes in Jefferson Co.
One man is facing child sex crimes in Jefferson County.
Capt. Kirk Vernon from the Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a residence in Oskaloosa around 7:45 a.m. Sunday for an adult having sexual contact with a minor.
When they arrived, they made contact with Jerry Johnson, 29, of Oskaloosa.
Vernon said Johnson voluntarily went to the Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office for questioning. He was arrested after being interviewed by authorities.
Arrest records show Johnson faces charges including one count of Indecent Liberties with a Child, Aggravated Indecent Solicitation of a Child under 14 years of age, and one count of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior for exposing himself to someone 16 years old or older.
Bond has been set at $10,000.
Prior to Sunday's arrest, Johnson spent more than five years at the Lansing Correctional Facility for a drug conviction.
He was arrested in September 2011 in Jackson County for the sale or possession of drugs with the intent to sell or cultivate within 1000 feet of a school.
He was released in July 2016.
