Chase Co. inmate death under investigation

CHASE CO., Kan. (WIBW) An autopsy is scheduled for a Chase County inmate who died earlier this week.

KVOE Radio says Matthew Aliber, 35, was taken from the jail to Morris County Hospital early Sunday evening because he wasn't feeling well.

Administrator Larry Sigler tells KVOE that Aliber passed away around 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Aliber, who was from Johnson County, was being held for a probation violation related to a 2018 DUI arrest.

No other information has been released.
