Ceramic clown show at McCrite Plaza builds anticipation for Arab Shrine Circus

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A unique collection of ceramic clowns is getting people ready for a bunch of real life clowning around.

The 80th Annual Arab Shrine Circus is next weekend at the Expocentre.

To get in the circus spirit, community members and shriners gathered this weekend at the McCrite Plaza Retirement Community to check out a local resident's display of dozens of ceramic clowns.

"We're celebrating this young lady's collection here at McCrite Plaza,” Rick Smith, public relations director for the Arab Shrine, said. “I thought I’d bring my collection of clowns with me."

The collection belongs to a woman who works at the facility.
