TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two Capitol Police officers had yet another brush with Hollywood after they were asked to be on the Kelly Clarkson Show.
The one-time American Idol winner and current talk show host asked Officer Lamont Jackson and Mike Pagle to come on her show after they performed with her at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
“We want to show the people the human nature side of law enforcement. We still have to serve and protect no matter what people say about us, and we’ll do that, but to let you know that we’re human beings too,” said Jackson.
They were both flown to Los Angeles earlier this week to tape the episode that aired Friday.
Both officers say it was an honor not only to perform with her, but also share why it’s important to do events like her show.
“I think it makes police officers more approachable overall, and people can come up to us, talk to us, interact with us in a good and positive way,” Pagle said.
Both officers are best known locally for their fun twitter posts singing in their patrol car. That’s how Clarkson found out about the duo.
