Burglary suspect caught days after sparking large search

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee Co. authorities say the burglary suspect who sparked a massive search last weekend has been caught.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies took Tanner Thompson into custody Friday in the 3800 block of SE Croco Rd. without further incident. They did not provide further details of how they caught up with him.

Thompson escaped custody early April 14 during a traffic stop in the 4500 block of SE Oak Bend Dr. It prompted an alert to residents that they might see a large law enforcement presence in the southeast portion of the county while authorities searched for him.

Thompson was wanted on a felony warrant for burglary, and for traffic-related charges.
