Brown County rescue crews battled rain and mud to find a man who became lost.
Sheriff John Merchant says the man called 911 Wednesday morning, he told the dispatcher he was lost, cold, wet and lying in a field between a pond and a farm house.
Authorities pinpointed his location around Hazelnut and K-20 Highway.
A Brown County deputy and the Kickapoo Police Chief started walking in the rain, through muddy fields, they found the man about three hours.
Authorities say the man became disoriented while walking near the Delaware River and spent about 24 hours outdoors.
He was taken to Hiawatha Hospital for treatment and observation.
