TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Brown Foundation celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education case at Washburn University.
Hundreds of people packed into Washburn's Memorial Union for an anniversary banquet.
The event is put on every year by the Brown Foundation.
Along with celebrating Washburn's role in the historic case, the banquet celebrated the accomplishments of Senator Anthony Hensley and Michael Young.
Young is the artist behind the Brown v. Board of Education mural at the Kansas capitol building.
Hensley sponsored legislation for that mural.
