Broadway Star Jeff Kready performs at Topeka Library

TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- Broadway star Jeff Kready stopped by the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library to give a special performance in honor of the library's 150th birthday.

Jeff Kready performed seveal Broadway hits and gave a few backstage stories to a packed auditorium.

Kready is a Topeka native who graduated from Washburn Rural High School and later went on to star in several Broadway shows such as "Tootsie"

Marie Pyko with the Public Library says they're honored to have a Topeka native help them celebrate their annversary.

"Jeff Kready is an amazing person who has made good as a Broadway star. He's a graduate from Washburn rural high school and he comes back to this community every year to give back to the community so he came back for the library just means the world to us."
