The Red Cross is in “Emergency Need” of ALL blood types, especially type “O” blood, the universal blood type. During the July 4 holiday, about 450 fewer blood drives were held compared to an average week, leading to around 17,000 fewer blood donations. We now have less than a three-day supply of blood and donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are being collected.
Right now there is less than a ONE-day supply of ALL blood types!
Donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than being collected!
Hospital orders are being scrutinized to insure at least traumas are covered!
