Big Blue River At Blue Rapids Water Levels

Big Blue and Little Blue River meet up just northwest of Blue Rapids.
Together, these two rivers drain large portions of Marshall and Washington Counties. These rivers take on areas in Nebraska as well, reaching beyond I-80 and to near Grand Island.

In extreme situations, as Tuttle Creek Lake reaches high levels... the lake water backs up the into the Big Blue River.

Extremely High Levels of Tuttle Creek Lake will cause a "back up" along the Big Blue River and can cause it to rise, or stay very high.
