BLUE MOUND, Kan. (WIBW) -- Authorities in Linn County have arrested the suspect involved in a Friday afternoon shooting.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says John Butler, 35, was arrested after a vehicle chase Saturday afternoon.

An officer from the Leawood Police Department spotted the vehicle at approximately 6:20 p.m. near Roe and College. Butler did not stop for the officer, beginning a chase.

They found a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported by EMS to a Kansas City area hospital and is expected to survive.

Linn County deputies, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Mound City Police Department identified a suspect and conducted a tactical operation for seven hours near the 500 block of Main in Mound City that evening.

However, they were unable to catch Butler until Saturday evening.

Authorities say the public is not at risk related to this incident or investigation.
