Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay says the case of a 14-year-old girl being attacked on video has been forwarded to his office.

Topeka Police arrested and booked the alleged 12-year-old attacker Thursday on a count of Felony Aggravated Battery. She was booked into the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections.

Kagay’s office will review the case and file official charges in district court.

The video shows one girl running up and start attacking another in an alley in the 1200 block of SW Washburn Ave around 11:45am Thursday.

The teen being attacked continues to plea for her to stop, as one person records the altercation and others look on and encourage the attack.

The girl is then repeatedly hit, punched and even kicked in the face.

Those watching at times say “take her phone before she can call the cops.”

Michael Beaty, the father of the girl attacked, says he found the video and posted it to the Topeka Police Scanner Facebook Page, saying his 14-year-old daughter has been bullied for the past 4 months.

Beaty tells 13 NEWS his daughter is okay, but sore and bruised.

"I want them to be held accountable," said Beaty. "It's like they didn't have a conscience. I don't know how you could all just stand there and videotape what was going on."

Police are asking for any witnesses and anyone with information to contact officers at 785-368-9400 or email via e-mail to Anonymous tips can be made to Shawnee County Crime Stoppers by calling 785-234-0007.

Police have not released names of those involved. It is TPD's policy not to release the name of a minor.
