(WIBW) -- Former Kansas State quarterback Alex Delton announced Thursday on Twitter he will transfer to the University of Texas-El Paso for his senior season.

He will join UTEP as a graduate transfer, and will be eligible to play immediately.

Delton will also be joining former KSU offensive coordinator Dana Dimel, who is now the head coach of the Miners' football program.

Under Dimel in 2018, UTEP went 1-11 and saw three quarterbacks nab playing time--each with more interceptions than touchdown passes.

Delton leaves Kansas State with 868 yards on the ground and 1,202 yards through the air over his career, as well as the title of MVP of the 2017 Cactus Bowl.

He announced he intended to transfer following his winter graduation from K-State in early December, after serving as the Wildcats' backup quarterback to Skylar Thompson in 2018.
