'A Night to Shine' event set to host hundreds

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The annual 'A Night to Shine' prom was such a big success last year at Grace Community Church, it moved to the Ramada Inn this year.

And organizers say the event quickly filled to capacity.

The 'A Night to Shine' prom is an event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, to give people with special needs a fun night out.

During last year's event, organizers were able to accept walk-ins at the door. But if you haven't already signed up for this year's event, you have to wait until 2020 to experience the magic.

"We open registration as early as November of the previous year," Grace Community Church pastor Louie Constantino said.

Attendees who attend the event Friday will experience food, games and a limo ride. The best part? Each person will be crowned prom king and queen by the end of the night.

"It's a way to make everybody feel special," Pastor Constantino said.

For those who have registered--the event will be held at the Ramada Inn from 6-9 p.m.
