TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — A former McDonald's employee faces criminal charges after reports surfaced about mustard being found in two law enforcement officers' soft drinks.

According to the Shawnee Co. Dept. of Corrections, Jonathon Gill was arrested Friday afternoon on two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Over the weekend, reports circulated on social media about a Topeka Police officer who found mustard in a soft drink when he went through the McDonald's drive-thru, in the 2000 block of NW Topeka Blvd.

The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed a trooper found mustard in his drink from the same location recently as well. The Kansas Highway Patrol said they alerted management when it happened.

The owner of the north Topeka McDonald's, Tom Dobski, said his company launched an investigation as soon as they learned of the complaint. Dobski said they were "shocked by the isolated actions of a single employee," adding that the employee "no longer works for the organization."
