4 children die in Pratt house fire; mother critical

Authorities say four children died in a Thursday morning house fire in southwest Kansas.
According to
, five people were pulled from the home in Pratt. A fifth person was taken to the hospital, but officials did not give an update on that person's condition.
The Pratt Tribune
as Harley, River, Timmy and Reece Wheatley, ranging in age from four months to four years old, were trapped in the basement with their mother, Charee Eggleton when the fire broke out.
Eggleton remains in critical condition.
They lived in the home, located near 2nd and Austin, with Charee's two sisters and her nephew. Those three escaped the fire unharmed.
The names of the children have not been released at this time.
The state Fire Marshall has taken over the investigation into the blaze.
