4 arrested in Aug. aggravated burglary

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) Four people are behind bars for a west Topeka Aggravated Burglary late last month. 

The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office says officers from their Criminal Investigations Division and Fugitive Warrants Unit arrested Matthew Kolbek Jr, 24, of Topeka on September 10th. 

Officials say Kolbek jumped from a 2nd-floor window from a residence in the 1200 block of SW Belle Terr. while trying to flee from police, but was caught a short time later in a nearby field.   

Authorities say a gun, 8.3 lbs of marijuana, more than 60 THC vape cartridges, and around $3,000 in cash were seized from the home. 

Officials say three others were taken into custody over the past couple of days for the same crime.  

They have been identified as Emily M. Kratochvil, 21, Sahayvian J. Griggs, 18, and Joshua M. Long, 23, all from Topeka.

All four suspects are facing multiple charges for an August 26th aggravated burglary in the 7600 block of SW Urish Rd. 

Those include Aggravated Battery, Assault, Burglary, Criminal Threat, Criminal Damage to Property, and Criminal Use of a Firearm.
