PINE BLUFF, Ark. (WIBW) -- A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a 16-year-old who was found in his car two months ago suffering from gunshot wounds, the Topeka Police Dept. announced Tuesday.

Lavonte D. Johnson was captured in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, about 45 minutes south of Little Rock, and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement on a Shawnee Co. warrant for first-degree murder and criminal use of a weapon, police said. He is currently being held in the Pulaski Co. (Ark.) Detention Center, awaiting extradition back to Kansas.

He is accused of killing Joaquin Aj McKinney. Danny Kay Williams and Zachary Jacob McFall are both already facing first-degree murder charges, as well as criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, in the teen's death.

Earlier this month, a court ruled Williams will be tried as an adult.

Investigators say they are not looking for any other suspects.

On July 25, officers found McKinney badly injured in his car, which had crashed near the intersection of SE 37th and Pennsylvania St. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The officers who found McKinney had been en route to another report of shots fired in the area of SE Fremont and Irvingham St. when they got word of McKinney's shooting near SE 37th and Adams St.
