TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The two men wanted in connection with an attack on a Geary Co. road early Monday morning have been captured.

On Tuesday, the Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office said they detained Topeka resident Michael Leroy Whitaker. Shortly afterwards, the Geary Co. Sheriff's Office confirmed Jason Snider, of Chapman, was taken into custody as well.

Snider and Chapman were identified as suspects after a man reported being beaten by two men on State Lake Road.

The victim told investigators he was with one of the suspects when the other suspect ordered him out of the car at gunpoint. Armed with the gun and a knife between them, the suspects beat the victim and held him against his will.

The victim, whose name was not released, took off running, eventually reaching U.S. 77 where he was able to get help, the Sheriff's Office continued. He was treated at the scene by Junction City Fire/EMS and released.
