Police arrest 2 men in N. Topeka shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two men were booked into jail - one for attempted first degree murder - in connection with a gunfire report in North Topeka.

Topeka Police say they were called just after 12:30 p.m. Monday to the 1500 block of NW Logan. Witnesses said someone in a small black passenger car fired gunshots, and the car sped away.

No one was injured by the shots.

A short time later, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle near Morse and N. Kansas Ave. The officer pulled over the car. Both men inside were taken into custody.

TPD says a gun was recovered during the vehicle stop.

Stephaun Gales, 21, was booked into on charges of attempted first degree murder and narcotics charges. Trevor Meier, 18, was booked for conspiracy to commit attempted first degree murder, as well as narcotics charges.
