TPD identifies bodies found in Topeka apartment on Monday

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Topeka Police are calling the deaths of two people suspicious after their bodies were found during a welfare check.

Police identified them as 22-year-old Robert Fink, 22, and 21 year-old Ashlie Hundertfund. Police do not know how long the pair had been dead.

Topeka Police spokesperson Lt. Colleen Stuart says officers were called to the Belmark Apartments at 1215 SW Polk around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning for a welfare check after one of them didn't show up for work.

“When the officers arrived and were able to gain entry into the apartment they found two deceased person and at this point it is suspicious circumstances,” Stuart said.

She says foul play is a possibility, but Topeka Police Officers will continue to investigate.

"They are going to be talking to as many people as possible to gain a better understanding of what might have occurred," Stuart said.

Stuart stressed that the investigation is still in the early stages.
