WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) - Police say an argument over video games led to a child being cut with a knife in southeast Wichita.

According to our sister station KWCH, officers were called around 10:39 p.m. for a report of a cutting in the 2200 block of south Glendale.

Three boys, ages 13, 12, and 9 were inside the 12-year-old’s home in the basement playing video games when they got into an argument.

During the argument, the 12-year-old retrieved a knife and threw it at the nine-year-old's back. He was taken to the hospital where he remains hospitalized with a non-life threatening injury. There were no injuries to the other boys.

Police say the 13 and 9-year-old boys are brothers.

Investigators have contacted the boys’ parents and are still conducting interviews as this remains an active investigation.
