TPD identifies man killed in apartment complex shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Dept. continues to investigate a deadly shooting at a central Topeka apartment complex Wednesday afternoon

Police tell 13 NEWS the shooting occurred around 2:50 p.m. inside an apartment complex in the 700 block of Taylor Street. One man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The victim has since been identified as Adrian Jones, 22.

Officials say detectives have interviewed all parties and witnesses involved in the shooting and no arrests will be made at this time. The add the public is not in danger.

Teen killed at complex in 2017

Wednesday's shooting comes less than two years after an 18-year-old Arden Dale King was shot and killed in the same building at the complex.

In November, Luqman Yusuf Keys, 19, was convicted of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in the June 25, 2017, killing.

Prosecutors say Keys went to the apartment to commit an armed robbery of money and other property, and he shot King.
