1 in critical condition after being hit by car in Auburn

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Shawnee County Sheriff office says the man hit and dragged by a car in Auburn, is in critical condition.

They still have not released the man's name.

According to deputies, 911 dispatchers received a call around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, from someone in a car driving to the hospital with the victim.

They instructed the driver to pull over at 10th and Auburn Rd and wait for first responders to arrive. The driver didn’t and continued until stopping on I-70 near the I-470 junction.

After interviewing the driver, they determined the person was hit by a car after an altercation in the 100 block of 4th in Auburn. During the altercation, one subject was dragged by a vehicle, causing life-threatening injuries. Two other subjects were struck by the vehicle resulting in minor injuries. The vehicle sped away westbound on 4th street and has not yet been located.

Authorities are still searching for the car involved. It is a red or dark colored Jeep Wrangler. They are also searching for a person named Tyler Moore.
