Kansas State was behind most of the game and struggling in the first half. It wasn't until Isiah Zuber returned a punt for 85 yards and a touchdown. Later Zuber would help take the lead and ultimately the win with a 10 yard touchdown pass from Thompson, winning 27-24.

Zuber led the Wildcats in receiving with five catches for 68 yards and one touchdown. Schoen was another stand out player of the game in yards but also had dropped passes and juggled a catch leading to an interception.Alex Barnes had solid running yards but also fumbled the ball multiple times.

One of the big takeaways is that quarterbacks Thompson and Delton shared time throughout the game and kept changing back and forth. Both Thompson and Alex Delton had ample opportunities to make their claim for the starting quarterback job, but neither could gain any ground by the end of the game.

KU went into overtime against Nicholls but would come up short losing 26-23. Kansas' offense had some success early as Peyton Bender found Steven Sims for a touchdown on the second drive to cap an efficient effort that included two nice runs for first downs. But then Sims dropped an easy score in the end zone next time out, and Kansas had to settle for a field goal.

Bender finished 19-of-35 passing for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Miles Kendrick also saw some time under center, leading one series that resulted in a punt early in the second quarter.

A lot of people on social media are pushing for David Beaty to be fired after another loss on what was supposed to be their easiest game of the season. The Jayhawks go to Central Michigan for their next match up.
