KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Both of the Kansas City Chiefs’ first-round picks from the 2026 NFL Draft will not be playing Sunday.

The Chiefs announced that cornerback Mansoor Delane (shoulder) and defensive tackle Peter Woods (neck) have both been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

It’ll be the second game Delane has missed in a row, and third game he has not played a snap in after being active but not a participant in Week 2 against the Colts.

Delane’s shoulder injury has been a nagging issue for Kansas city all season. It first appeared during OTAs and was a prevalent part of his training camp preparation, keeping him in a yellow, non-contact jersey throughout the summer.

He reinjured it in Week 1 getting tackled after making an interception, playing only three snaps during his debut.

Woods injured his neck during the second quarter of Kansas City’s 28-24 loss to the Denver Broncos last Sunday.

The 29th overall pick out of Clemson is not the only defensive tackle who will not suit up Sunday. Last year’s second round pick, Omarr Norman-Lott was a limited participant in practice this week as the Chiefs opened his practice window to return from IR. Norman-Lott won’t play against the Jets but is nearing a return from a torn ACL suffered in Week 7 last season.

Tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) and linebacker Nick Bolton (neck), do not have injury designations for Sunday’s game. Wide receiver Nikko Remigio was added to the injury report Friday with a hip injury and is listed as questionable for the game.

The Chiefs and Jets will kick off Sunday at 12 p.m. CT in a game that can be seen live on KCTV5.
