VBP Vettes host 2nd annual Car Show to benefit Helping Hands Humane Society
The VBP Vettes’ car show boasted a variety of vehicles, old and new, for car-lovers to enjoy.
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The VBP Vettes, a local Corvette club, got revved up for their second annual car show on Saturday, July 19.
They drew quite the crowd with an extensive selection of cars, including models from Corvette, Ford, and Chevy.
Car lovers spent the day showing off their vehicles and competing for awards.
The event also featured a silent auction benefitting Helping Hands Humane Society.
13 News spoke to one proud car owner who said events like this are a great chance for the car community to bond over their shared interest.
“You can reminisce about old cars you’ve had,” said David Weddle, owner of a 1957 Ford Thunderbird. “With every car you have, you say ‘oh I wish I hadn’t sold that one’. All these people are just good, down-to-earth Kansas people, and it’s just a joy. Everyone here you can talk to.”
