Two injured when vehicle hits side of Holton Sonic Drive-In building
HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) - Two employees were reported injured late Tuesday morning after a car hit the Sonic Drive-In building in Holton.
The incident was reported around 11:35 a.m. at the Sonic, located at 107 S. US-75 highway.
Holton police said at the scene that two people who were working inside the restaurant were transported to the hospital.
The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately known.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that hit the side of the building was reported uninjured.
The vehicle appeared to have struck the lower portion of the building’s south wall. Aside from a crack in the wall, little other damage was visible to the exterior of the building.
It wasn’t immediately known how much damage occurred inside the restaurant, which offers only drive-in service.
The restaurant was closed to customers for more than an hour after the incident. It wasn’t known when it would reopen.
Orange cones blocked the entrance and exit area, which is adjacent to US-75 highway on the south side of Holton.
Store officials at the scene referred questions to Sonic’s corporate office. Efforts were made early Tuesday afternoon to reach Sonic’s media relations department for additional information.
