TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Washburn Rural picked Elizabeth Stover as the new head coach for the WRHS Softball Team.

Stover has been an assistant coach with the Lady Blues for the past four years. She also serves as an assistant powerlifting coach.

Stover is a graduate of Baker University where she earned a BA in Secondary Education and History and is currently working on a Master in School Leadership. She was Team Captain of the 2017 Baker University Women’s Softball Team and was named a 2016 All-American by the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

Announcing her appointment to the position, Penny Lane, WRHS Athletic Director said, “We look forward to the excellent leadership that Coach Stover will provide. We are confident that she will continue the tradition of excellence of the Rural Softball Program.”

Stover will assume her new coaching duties at the start of the spring season on February 28, 2022.
