McClure congratulates graduating alumni

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - McClure Elementary welcomed graduating alumni back to their annual graduation senior walk Wednesday.

Seniors who attended the elementary school were welcomed to bring their caps and gowns back to where it all started for them. They got to visit their former teachers, who were excited to congratulate the soon-to-be college students.

McClure’s principal says it’s not only a way to congratulate their former students, but to also inspire their current pupils.

“Inviting the seniors who attended McClure back for our Senior Walk, is inspirational for our younger students,” Dr. Jennifer Gordon said. “McClure is a national school of character and reconnecting the high school students with elementary students is another way McClure is incorporating character education.”
