Frankfort wins second-straight 1A boys golf state title
EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - Frankfort’s boys golf team has claimed its second-straight 1A state title after one round of play.
Round 2 was called off due to lightening and excess rain. KSHSAA announced Tuesday winners would be determined by the full 18 hole scores from Monday.
Frankfort (347) finished 11 strokes ahead of second-place Osborne (358), followed by Rawlins County (360) and Centralia (378).
Centralia senior Trent Mars took home the individual title with a score of 78 in Round 1.
Frankfort senior Aiden Gerstner and Rawlin County senior Kendrick Woody tied for second, just one stroke behind Mars.
The Cats last won a team state title in 2019. The 2020 championship was canceled due to COVID-19.
