KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) - Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is said to be interviewing for head coach positions at several NFL teams.

Earlier today, the Atlanta Falcons held a remote interview with Bieniemy. The Falcons fired head coach Dan Quinn back in October.

The three-year Chiefs offensive coordinator also has been linked to the Detroit Lions coaching vacancy. CBS Sports NFL reporter Jason La Canfora says that the Lions will interview Bieniemy for the head coach spot. The Lions fired Matt Patricia at the end of November.

Bieniemy has been the Chiefs offensive coordinator since 2018. He was promoted from being the teams running backs coach.

Under his watch, the offense has flourished. The Chiefs finished the 2020 season ranked first in total yards per game (425.7), first in passing yards per game (309.1) and averaged the second most points per game in the league (30.1).

The season prior, he helped lead the Chiefs to a Super Bowl LIV victory.
