WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament again in 2025.

The last time the city hosted the tournament was in 2018 and many think it was a major success. That’s one reason why it’s coming back again in 2021 and 2025.

Business owner, Nathan Meile, says having a business next to the arena is a great location, especially when there are big events.

“There’s been so much effort and work put into the downtown, you can just see it over the years,” said Meile, who owns Axe To Grind.

He hopes those tournaments will bring in more customers with a slow down due to COVID.

He says it will bring a big jump in revenue needed after 2020 and bring more attention to a city that is already growing.

“Just really proud of Wichita.”

Intrust Bank Arena will also host the women’s regional tournament in 2022. Then in 2024, the D2 national collegiate wrestling championship as well.
