TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Winners of the Take Charge Challenge were announced Tuesday. The Kansas Corporation Commission funded the project, aimed at saving energy.
The four winners won $100-thousand dollars each. In the University Region, Manhattan won. In the Northeast region Baldwin City won. Fort Scott and Colby also won.
Winners were judged on house energy efficiency, lighting changes and community involvement.
They say more than $275-thousand Kansans in 16 different communities were involved in the project.
