...MUCH COLDER AIR AND POTENTIAL SNOWFALL FOR MID WEEK...

A FAST MOVING WINTER STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO FORCE A STRONG COLD
FRONT ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.
WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES TODAY AND TOMORROW WILL BE REPLACED
BY WELL BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. THERE IS
ALSO THE POTENTIAL FOR LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OVER
THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO. AT
THIS TIME THE GREATEST THREAT FOR ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL WILL STRETCH
FROM THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS EASTWARD ACROSS THE NORTHEAST
HIGHLANDS AND NORTHEAST PLAINS.

NOW IS THE TIME TO PREPARE FOR MUCH COLDER WEATHER AND THE POTENTIAL
FOR SNOW. PREPARE OUTDOOR PLUMBING AND SWAMP COOLERS FOR THE WINTER
SEASON...WINTERIZE YOUR VEHICLE...AND REVIEW YOUR WINTER WEATHER
PREPAREDNESS PLAN. THOSE WITH TRAVEL AND OUTDOOR PLANS ACROSS THE
REGION LATER THIS WEEK SHOULD REMAIN ALERT TO THE LATEST FORECASTS.

THERE IS STILL A GREAT DEAL OF UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE EXACT TRACK
AND STRENGTH OF THIS WINTER STORM SYSTEM. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA
WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR FAVORITE MEDIA OUTLET FOR THE LATEST UPDATES...
