Powerful Cold Front Will Cause Temperatures To Tumble

A powerful, Arctic cold front will push across the plain states on Veteran's Day. Temperatures ahead of the front will be in the 50s on Monday morning for Eastern Kansas. Winds will be light out of the SW at 5-10mph ahead of the front. Then things will change. Around mid-day, a powerful cold front will blast through Eastern Kansas. The winds will quickly shift and blow from the North, gusting up to 30mph. Temperatures will drop through the afternoon hours behind the front. By 5pm most areas will be in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s. Temperatures will drop all the way into the teens by sunrise on Tuesday, and wind chills could be as low as the single digits. Highs on Tuesday will only make the 30s despite plenty of sunshine.

Minimal precipitation will accompany the cold front. A few light rain showers or snow flurries will be possible, but no accumulation is expected.
