Over the past several days there have been numerous severe storm reports all across the country. However, the only tornado reports have not come from "tornado alley." The only tornadoes since Friday have been reported in Connecticut, New York, and Florida. This is not as odd as it may seem. Tornadoes are possible in every state and they obviously do happen everywhere. The fact that tornadoes were reported in Florida is even less odd. The statistics show that Florida is actually the #5 state in annual tornadoes behind the "tornado alley" states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. The reason for this is because when hurricanes or other tropical systems make landfall they generally produce numerous tornadoes.
