Summer officially started on June 21st as the Topeka area saw just under 15 hours of daylight. While, the hottest part of the summer is still to come, for you winter lovers out there winter is officially on its way. The days will progressively get shorter from now until December 21st.

Over the next two weeks the sunset time does not change but the sunrise gets later by 5 minutes. This time of year the change is not nearly as quick as in the spring and fall when we lose 2 minutes every day.
