THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING...

.AN AIRMASS WITH INCREASING MOISTURE CONTENT WILL INTERACT WITH AN
APPROACHING COLD FRONT TO PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL AND LOCALIZED FLASH
FLOODING ACROSS THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS FROM
LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. SATURATED SOILS OVER THE
REGION WILL FURTHER ENHANCE THE FLASH FLOOD POTENTIAL.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS EXPANDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI...
SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...INCLUDING THE
FOLLOWING AREAS...IN CENTRAL MISSOURI...MARIES...PHELPS AND
PULASKI. IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI...DENT AND TEXAS. IN
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...BARRY...CHRISTIAN...GREENE...LACLEDE...
LAWRENCE...MCDONALD...NEWTON...STONE...WEBSTER AND WRIGHT.

* FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

* A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST INTO EASTERN KANSAS AND CENTRAL
AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI WEDNESDAY EVENING. THIS FRONT WILL
INTERACT WITH A MOISTURE LADEN ATMOSPHERE TO PRODUCE HEAVY
RAINFALL LEADING TO THE POSSIBILITY OF FLASH FLOODING. ONE TO
THREE INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH SOME OF THAT RAIN FALLING
VERY QUICKLY...ESPECIALLY WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOODING. SMALL
CREEKS AND RIVERS WILL FLOW SWIFTLY AND BECOME DANGEROUS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD
FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
