2007 Precipitation...Above Average

The year of 2007 will go down as a wet year in the history books. It started in May and June when torrential rains brought flooding across much of Eastern Kansas and then a wet October and the second snowiest December on record has brought over 40 inches of liquid precipitation to Topeka. Our average annual amount is about 35 inches. With no more major storms in the forecast through the end of the year we will end 2007 about 5 inches ahead of our 30 year average for precipitation.
