Yearly Average Snowfall

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW)- Northeast Kansas has been close to snow a couple times in the past month but nothing more than a dusting which was observed in some locations in October. The average snowfall for a year in Topeka is 18.7” with a break down by month as follows:

October: 0.3”
November: 1”
December: 5.2”
January: 5.3”
February: 5”
March: 1.6”
April: 0.3”

Last year Topeka received its first 1” snowfall on December 20th which is a little later than the average date of December 14th. There are currently no signs of any snow in the forecast anytime soon.

*Average is defined as a 30 year average from 1981-2010
