Winter Outlook 2013-2014

The latest winter forecast* from the Climate Prediction Center indicates low confidence of extremes in both precipitation and temperature indicated by EC. EC (equal chances) simply means that there is an equal chance of seeing below average, average, or above average temperatures and precipitation, The area with the highest confidence is in southern parts of the US with higher probability of warmer than average temperatures in Texas and a higher probability of below average precipitation in the New Mexico/Texas area.

*Climatologically winter is defined as the months of December-February
