...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...

A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST THIS EVENING.

* TIMING...SOUTH WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST KANSAS THIS MORNING. THESE WINDS WILL BECOME STRONG AND GUSTY BY LATE MORNING...THEN CONTINUE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON BEFORE DECREASING TOWARDS SUNSET.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED.

* IMPACTS...THESE STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT ON EAST WEST HIGHWAYS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. AREA LAKES AND BOATERS WILL ALSO BE IMPACTED BY THE STRONG WINDS. FIRE DANGER WILL BE VERY HIGH IN THE ADVISORY AREA AS WELL.

TAKE ACTION TO SECURE TRASH CANS...LAWN FURNITURE...AND OTHER LOOSE OR LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS.
