Showers and storms dropped several inches of rain in portions of Central and Eastern Kansas on Monday. The strongest storms produced rainfall rates of over 4 inches per hour at times, including 5 inches of rain in just 75 minutes reported Monday evening near Olpe, KS in southern Lyon County.
Topeka, KS officially recorded 1.34" of rainfall at Topeka's Billard Airport on Monday which sets a new record rainfall for July 29th, breaking the previous record of 1.14" set in 1895.
