Topeka, KAN. (WIBW)—Storms caused a great deal of damage across much of the Topeka area Sunday night. Westar Energy reports that about 1,900 residents went without power Sunday evening.

Winds knocked over a fence on 21st street just west of Wanamaker Road. Reports of a roof ripped off also came into the newsroom from that area. Homeowners were figuring out what to do with a metal shed that was thrown across Belle in front of the Topeka West High School parking lot.

Also in the area, a white picket fence was knocked over due to those high winds, reaching up to 80 miles per hour at one time.
